Submissions for Foreign Rights

[*CAREFUL! Remember this is my old page. It's here for viewing purposes only. My new site is https://the-wittmann-agency.com]

Thank you for your interest in submitting your work to be considered for The Wittmann Agency.

You're on a mission to create a sustainable and rewarding publishing business you love and we are here to provide you with the tools you need to do exactly that.

We at The Wittmann Agency are publishing licensing specialists — it’s all we do. We are not a Literary Agency.

We provide the full 360° suite of services from strategy to brainstorming, from sales prospecting, selling foreign publishing rights, setting-up foreign rights publishing contracts to legal support, from marketing development to project management, from royalty collection to production of a copyright-protected licensed edition.

We are committed to an eclectic mix of quality self-help and companion books, strong-selling non-fiction, discerning fiction and select books for children and young adults that are beautiful, inspiring and thoughtful and make the perfect licensed edition to travel the world.

The Wittmann Agency works directly with international publishers in over 75 countries of the world; in South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, P.R. China, Turkey and Bulgaria we work with cooperating agents.

As a boutique agency, we are always looking for new authors and new exciting titles to carry in the agency that will "complement" our current portfolio.

High-quality English excerpt or full English manuscript is a precondition.

We read everything that is submitted to the agency if the guidelines are followed.

Submission Process

If you are interested in submitting your book(s) for consideration, please follow the following 3 steps:

1. Go to The Wittmann Agency register and download your link to access your FREE SubmissionCard – top things we MUST know before considering your book(s).

2. Complete your SubmissionCard online.

3. Save your message and submit your SubmissionCard with 1- Click and tell us why you think your work will be a great fit for The Wittmann Agency!

We at The Wittmann Agency work as follows:

#1) If we like your work (Prior to our consideration you have submitted your SubmissionCard to us.), we will ask you to see more material and then contact you to discuss it in detail.

#2) If we have decided not to offer representation on the basis of the material you’ve sent in, we will reply with a brief note. The Wittmann Agency is unable to send detailed critiques or detailed comments because of the volume of material we receive. Comments are a huge responsibility which requires serious thought and time commitment. This is not a level of service we can offer when declining submissions. If The Wittmann Agency says no to representing you or your work, it will not necessarily mean that we didn’t like the work, but we owe it to our existing clients not to become over-committed and through long-standing professional experience we also have an informed eye as to what we can currently place with publishers in German-speaking territories and throughout the world.

Since we have limited space in our boutique agency, we carefully curate the works we bring in to our agency.

Once we reviewed your SubmissionCard and think your work(s) would be a great fit, we will E-Mail you about setting up an agency agreement and on how we would like to proceed to the next steps.

Due to the overwhelming number of submissions, we may not be able to respond within 5 working days back to every single E-Mail but we do try.

However, we do take this process very seriously and review every submission by E-Mail. We can no longer accept submissions by post – these will not be considered or returned.

We look forward to hearing about your exciting ideas!!!

Thank you again for your interest in The Wittmann Agency. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing your inspiring works!

xoxo

Claudia and the team of The Wittmann Agency
